The JC Transport Story

From full-time Steel Business to full-time Transportation

JC Transport was born out of a transportation need.

Within the first six months, it was obvious that the business model was more than a successful experiment.

Today , JC Transport services a national client base, with a focus in the Southeastern United States.  And, is growing.

Jeremy Chrislip always delivers on his word.

If 25 years in the steel business teaches you one thing, it’s that you won’t survive very long on empty promises and meaningless guarantees. The transportation business is no different. Being reliable, dependable, and trustworthy are everything.

Chrislip needed a shipping company he could count on to consistently deliver his steel on time to his customers. When he found trust and reliability to be in short supply, he knew he could do better. And that’s how JCT was born.

This is also a story of the apple not falling far from the tree.

Chrislip attributes a great deal of his success and confidence to both his father and his grandfather.  They not only passed along life lessons in morality, but also served as business mentors.  Having a father with decades of experience in manufacturing and who served as Chairman of the Board of the Galvanizer’s Association, and a grandfather with a wealth of sales,  business, and people experience, proved a distinct competitive advantage as Chrislip grew the company from a 17 person operation to a 50 person operation.

Growing up, Jeremy Chrislip tagged along with his grandfather as he visited his customers, listened to them talk about their business and helped them find the right solutions for their specific needs. It was a master-class in salesmanship, integrity and relationship building that would serve as the foundation for Jeremy’s work ethic and commitment to earning his customers’ business based on trust and doing things the right way instead of the easy way.

REFUSE TO LEAD BY FEAR

As a student-athlete at Mississippi College, Jeremy excelled on the football field but more importantly, he learned the power of teamwork and how to incorporate it into running a successful business. He learned that no matter whether you won or lost, if you did it as a team, then whatever the scoreboard said was only part of the story.

TEACH, FOLLOW UP, AND HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE FOR JOBS AND TASKS

After more than a decade of learning the ropes and working for other people, Jeremy set out on his own and founded a rolled steel company. With his uniquely comprehensive industry knowledge and established contacts, Jeremy leaned into the values and integrity he learned as a child from his father and grandfather, the importance of teamwork and dedication he learned on the football field, and the wisdom and guidance he had received from his industry mentors. Chrislip grew the company from $0 to a $17 million, regional company in 10 years.

ALWAYS SET AN EXAMPLE

As the owner of JCT, Jeremy Chrislip has created a transportation company and culture grounded in the concepts of trust, dependability and doing the right thing. It’s all based on a handshake and the firm belief that the best way to keep a customer is to keep your word and deliver on your promises. With a focus on efficiency, obsessing over the details and listening to the needs of each individual customer, JCT is a company you can count on and one we believe would make Jeremy’s grandfather incredibly proud.
